In preseason, Florida State’s potential was obvious and its presence in the tournament should not be considered much of a surprise. The Seminoles started the season 16-1, with the loss coming against Temple after leading by 18 with with 12 minutes left. Florida State still got wins against Florida, Duke and Virginia, while the first loss in the ACC came against North Carolina. After that game, it was an up and down season for the team, with a win against Lousiville and losses against Georgia Tech and Pittsburgh that costed the Seminoles a chance to win the ACC regular season. However, this is an intriguing group, with 12 players averaging over 10 minutes per game and the best bench in the nation averaging over 30 PPG. There are no obvious “first options” nor leaders on the team and that can be an advantage sometimes, but it is also the main cause of the loss against Notre Dame in the ACC semifinal.

If it was only a matter of the Nba draft, Jonathan Isaac is a raw prospect and a likely top 5 pick. Dwayne Bacon is the other Nba prospect at roster: he is likely to go in the second round but, depending on what he will be able to show to Nba scouts, he might go higher. For those more interested in overseas-bound talent, Xavier Rathan-Meyers and Terrence Mann are the names to follow
Prediction
Considering their whole season, the Elite Eight might be a satisfying goal, but anything can happen.
